St. Petersburg man advertising as nanny accused of owning child porn

ST. PETERSBURG — A 21-year-old man advertising as a nanny faces five counts of possessing child porn, authorities said.

Daniel Cortopassi was arrested Tuesday during a traffic stop at Seminole and Park boulevards.

After his arrest, Pinellas sheriff's detectives found 278 child pornography videos on Cortopassi's computer at his home, 4700 Emerson Ave., deputies said. The videos involved children as young as 6. The videos, downloaded with file-sharing programs, ranged from a few minutes to over an hour.

They also discovered he was advertising on Craigslist to be a nanny.

Deputies, concerned he might have been contacted to be hired as a nanny. They ask that anyone with information call the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children Unit at (727) 582-6200.
