St. Petersburg police looking for man and woman in home invasion that injured woman

ST. PETERSBURG — Police are asking the public's help in identifying two people wanted in an armed home invasion this month.

Police said the robbery happened just after midnight May 14 at a 50-year-old woman's apartment in the Meadows Apartments complex, 830 117th Ter. N.

At least two men forced their way through a window, entered the woman's bedroom and struck her in the head, possibly with a gun, police said.

They bound her ankles and wrists, demanding to know where she kept her valuables and hitting her in the head. They left after about an hour, taking electronics and the victim's purse. The victim eventually freed herself and called police. She was hospitalized for head injuries.

Police said they don't know why she was targeted.

Shortly after the robbery, police said surveillance cameras captured a man and a woman using the victim's stolen credit cards at Ellenton Premium Outlets and Tyrone Square Mall.

The man was described as black, in his late 20s, about 5 feet 7, 150 pounds with a dark complexion. He was wearing a black-and-yellow racing jacket, jeans and black shoes. The woman was described as black, in her late 20s, 5 feet 6, 200 pounds with a tattoo on her right arm. She was last seen wearing a blond wig.

Police ask anyone with information to call Detective Robert Anderson at (727) 892-5910 or (727) 893-7780. People can also use the tip line at (727) 892-5000.
