St. Petersburg police seek Clearwater man in bank robbery

ST. PETERSBURG — Police have asked the public's help in finding a Clearwater man they suspect robbed a bank Wednesday afternoon.

The robbery happened at 1:01 p.m. at GTE Federal Credit Union, 4584 38th Ave. N, police said.

The suspect entered the bank and passed a note to the teller, police said. He implied he had a gun and demanded money, though no weapon was seen.

Police said he left in a white Dodge Colt.

Detectives said the suspect is Chris James Fabrizio, 43, of 3816 102nd Place N.

Jail records show Fabrizio was arrested Feb. 19 for oxycodone possession.
