ST. PETERSBURG — A 21-year-old woman was in jail early Tuesday after she was accused of trying to start a fire inside a home after going on a rampage.

Police say Jenna Rager, staying at 5833 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N, had been drinking at the home and started acting disorderly. Police were called. Rager told them she was going to bed and they left.

Then she started to rage.

At some point, she started breaking things inside the house, kicking doors and making threatening statements, said police spokesman Mike Puetz.

She left the house and was locked out, police said.

She then broke a car's windshield before going around to the back of the home and breaking in. Inside, she turned on the stove burners and threw some paper towels and shirts on the stove top, starting a small fire. The homeowner put the fire out.

Police and firefighters were called shortly after midnight, and Rager was arrested.

Rager faces a charge of first-degree arson and criminal mischief. She was being held Tuesday morning at the Pinellas County jail in lieu of $50,250 bail.
