St. Petersburg mother accused of goading kids to fight

ST. PETERSBURG — A woman was taken to the Pinellas County Jail after encouraging her 14-year-old daughter to fight another child, police said.

Officers said Jennifer Brinson, 38, of St. Petersburg, picked her daughter up from John Hopkins Middle School on Monday and drove to another juvenile's home.

She challenged the other child to fight her daughter, according to an arrest affidavit. Later, the daughter got out of the car and struck the other juvenile, the report said.

The report noted that Brinson was at the school earlier in the day, challenging other kids to fight her daughter.

Brinson's daughter was charged with simple battery, police said. Brinson was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

She was released from the jail late Monday after posting $150 bail, records show.
