St. Petersburg woman accused of having sex with young boy

ST. PETERSBURG — Police arrested an unemployed 26-year-old woman they said has been having sex with a young boy.

Lauralee M. Beckham, 26, of 6418 Haines Road, Apt. 46, faces a charge of lewd and lascivious battery.

Authorities said the boy is younger than 16, but would not give his age or any other details about him to protect his identity.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said they got a call from the boy's father Wednesday night.

During an investigation, deputies learned Beckham and the boy had been having consensual sex for the past two weeks. Beckham later confirmed that while under questioning, officials said.

Deputies don't believe there are any other victims in the case.

Beckham remained in the Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail on Thursday.
