SunTrust bank branch robbed in Tampa, police say

TAMPA — Police are looking for a man who robbed a bank shortly after noon Monday.

Police say a man walked into SunTrust Bank, 16520 N Nebraska Ave., at 12:31 p.m., gave the teller a demand note and implied that he had a gun.

After being given an undisclosed amount of money, the robber left the bank in a blue, two-door Ford pickup truck that had an extended cab.

The man was described as white, 25 to 28 years old, 5 feet 7 and 170 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark shirt, jeans, a baseball cap and sunglasses that were placed on the cap.

Anyone with information about the robbery can call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
