ST. PETERSBURG — Authorities in Seminole County arrested an Apopka man Wednesday in connection with an unsolved murder from 1991. The victim in the case is the cousin of St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster.
David Hedrick, 50, was identified as a suspect in the murder of Betty Clair Foster through a hit in Florida's DNA database, authorities said.
Foster, who was then 50 years old, was stabbed to death the afternoon of Jan. 31, 1991, while working at a computer store in Casselberry.
Hedrick was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder and held without bail.
