Suspected Days Inn robber with assault rifle arrested

TAMPA — Police have arrested a suspect in the armed robbery of a north Tampa Days Inn last week.

A Crime Stoppers tip led police to Stephen Attore, 32, of 247 Meadow Oak Lane in Tarpon Springs. Attore is accused of using an AR15 assualt rifle to rob the Days Inn, 2522 N Dale Mabry Highway, on July 26 at about 5:15 a.m. He also wore an unusual head covering before inadvertently revealing his face to a surveillance camera, police said.

Detectives believe Attore committed two similar robberies in Pinellas County. He was arrested at his home Saturday around 1 a.m.
