Tampa man accused of beating, raping woman

TAMPA — A Tampa man is accused of raping and beating a 41-year-old woman in an abandoned house Tuesday.

Jean Armaned, 28, met a woman and walked with her to a house where she was staying at 4 p.m., police said.

Armaned said he wanted to have sex with her, but she said no, police said. Armaned then attacked her outside the home and started beating her as she screamed for him to stop, a witness told police.

Armaned, of 4603 Citrus Circle, grabbed the woman by the throat, dragged her inside the house and raped her, police say.

The witness called police and gave a description of the suspect and location.

Police arrested Armaned on charges of sexual battery, false imprisonment and kidnapping. This is his first arrest in Florida, according to state records.
