Tampa man accused of prostituting girls at motel

TAMPA — A 33-year-old man accused of encouraging two underage girls to prostitute themselves in a motel room was arrested Wednesday, police said.

Naba Raheem Lewis met the girls online. They and Lewis moved into the USA Inn at 2905 N 50th St. He checked into two rooms, including one that the girls used for prostitution, an arrest affidavit shows.

Lewis also kept the money they made, the affidavit shows. Police found $3,840 in cash.

On Wednesday just before midnight, officers were called to the inn after reports of an incident in Room 216. There, they found the family of one of the girls trying to take her home.

Before police arrived, the girls ran away but were later found.

Lewis faces charges of procuring a minor for prostitution, deriving support from prostitution proceeds and renting space for prostitution.
