TAMPA — A 22-year-old man was arrested Monday, accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl, police said.
Charles Henry Hightower of Tampa was at a friend's home early Monday when he met the girl. Police say he entered her room several times during the visit and eventually sexually assaulted her.
The girl immediately told a family member. A few hours later, Hightower was arrested.
He faces a sexual battery charge. Tampa police also arrested him on an unrelated warrant for marijuana possession. He was booked into the Hillsborough County jail, where he remained Tuesday without bail.
