Clayton Adrian White, 24, left, is accused of shooting and killing Andrew Edie of Gibsonton.

TAMPA — A suspect surrendered to authorities Wednesday to face charges in the shooting death of a man found in Gibsonton last month.

Clayton Adrian White, 24, of 2913 E 27th Ave., was arrested on a charge of first-degree murder.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said detectives linked White through their investigation into the July 16 shooting of Andrew Edie, 48, who was found dead in a recreational vehicle in Gibsonton.

Edie lived in the RV at 11201 Inglewood Drive. Paramedics responded to a 911 call there on the night of the shooting and pronounced Edie dead at the scene.

The Sheriff's Office quickly said the shooting was drug-related.

Neighbors knew Edie as someone who worked on cars behind his RV and who used his air compressor to fill up tires for children on bikes.
