TAMPA — A 22-year-old mother who hit her child with a belt, leaving permanent scarring on his face, neck and back, was arrested Monday on a felony child abuse charge, police said.
Jessica Danielle Nicole Gloster struck the child "numerous times with various weapons," a report said.
Two scars on the child's back appeared to be caused by the victim's belt buckle, according to the report. Police did not list an age for the child.
Gloster is being held at Orient Road Jail without bail.
