Tampa police investigating after woman found shot outside gas station

TAMPA — A woman was shot twice early New Year's Day outside a north Tampa gas station, Tampa Police said.

Jessica D. McIntyre, 36, was found about 3:45 a.m. at the Citgo Quick Mart, at 11710 N Nebraska Ave, police said. She was transported to Tampa General Hospital and was in stable condition Friday afternoon following surgery.

Justin L. King, 24, called 911 about an hour after the incident and said he had shot someone on Nebraska Avenue and wanted to turn himself in. Officers met with King and arrested him. He is facing a charge of aggravated battery with a firearm.
