TAMPA — Police walked into a McDonald's Friday afternoon and walked out with a bank robbery suspect.
At 4:57 p.m., a man approached the teller at the BB&T at 4144 N Armenia Ave., and passed a note demanding money and implying he had a gun, according to Tampa police.
He ran out with some cash, but fast responding police officers set up a perimeter in the area.
Thirty minutes later, an officer spotted a man fitting the description of the robber in McDonald's restaurant at N Armenia Avenue and W Tampa Bay Boulevard — less than a quarter mile away from the bank, police said.
The man was arrested as he tried to slip out of the McDonald's and identified by a witness.
Police say the suspect is Donald Bryant, who turns 54 Sunday, and doesn't have a current address. Officers have not released the charges filed against Bryant.
