TAMPA — Police were looking for a woman who participated in an attempted home invasion Thursday night that left her partner in the crime badly injured.
About 8:45 p.m., a resident returning home to 1804 24th Ave. was followed by a man and a woman who tried to break into the home, according to Tampa police. A fight ensued in the home and the resident grabbed his gun and shot the male assailant. Both would-be robbers ran.
Officers found the male suspect not far from the home and he was hospitalized in critical condition, according to police, who were searching for the female suspect late Thursday.
The names of those involved have not been released.
