Tampa police search for pain pill robber

TAMPA — Police are searching for an armed robber who demanded pain pills from a Walgreens pharmacist Thursday.

A man wearing a hooded sweater and a Rays baseball cap walked into the Walgreens at 3518 Henderson Blvd. in Tampa at about 3:40 a.m. and began surveying the store, police said.

He paced in front of the pharmacy and then jumped over the counter. Once inside, he brandished a handgun and demanded oxycodone, police said. The pharmacist complied and the suspect fled through a side entrance.

No one was injured during the robbery, according to police.

Police are asking anyone with information about this case to call them at (813) 231-6130.
