TAMPA — Police were searching for a man wanted in a shooting outside a distribution company just before 6 a.m. Monday.

According to Tampa police, the victim, Akbar Noorani, 54, of Oldsmar, was opening the front gates to National Distributors Inc. at 2301 E McBerry St. when the suspect approached him and pointed a gun. Noorani turned to run away, police said, and the suspect fired one shot.

The suspect ran, and Noorani called 911. Noorani was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police dogs and a helicopter looked for the suspect, but to no avail.
