Tampa police search for witness in Days Inn homicide

TAMPA — Police were searching Monday for a woman they believe may be a witness to a weekend homicide at a Days Inn.

Officers were called to the motel at 2901 E Busch Blvd. Saturday after a worker discovered a body while checking rooms.

Police deemed Brando Julian Masquero's death suspicious. On Sunday, a medical examiner's report concluded Masquero, 28, was a homicide victim.

The circumstances of the homicide and cause of death have not been released.

Police believe Tiffany Ritter-Posada, 41, is a witness. Anyone with information on her whereabouts was asked to call Tampa police at (813) 231-6130. Police said anonymous callers are eligible for a $1,000 reward if the tip leads to an arrest.
