TAMPA — A woman tried to run a man over with her car Sunday afternoon while her 18-month-old daughter sat unrestrained in the passenger seat, according to Tampa police.

Tamika Lashaunda Willis, 29, threw the girl into the car without buckling her into a safety seat, according to an arrest report. Willis then tried repeatedly to run over the 49-year-old man, ramming the car into his house and a fence.

As she tried to hit him, the baby was thrown multiple times into the dashboard, causing a large lump on her forehead, police said. The child was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital and the Department of Children and Families was notified.

Willis faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated child abuse, and a probation violation stemming from a 2010 aggravated battery conviction. She was held in the Hillsborough County Jail without bail.
