TARPON SPRINGS — Authorities are asking the public to help identify a woman captured on surveillance video as she attempted to rob a Walgreens two weeks ago.

According to Tarpon Springs police, the woman went into the drugstore at 605 S Pinellas Ave. shortly after 9 p.m. Jan. 26, implied she had a gun and demanded money from the store clerk.

The clerk did not give the woman any money, then left the register area to contact another employee.

The woman then left the store. Surveillance video shows her leaving the property on a bicycle. She was last seen heading south from the parking lot, police said.

The woman appears to be white and middle-aged, with brown, shoulder-length hair. She was wearing blue sweatpants with two white stripes running down the side of the legs, a blue scarf with tassels and a blue jacket. She was carrying a light-colored purse.

Police ask anyone with information to call Detective Brockew at the Tarpon Springs Police Department at (727) 938-2849.
