Teenage suspect in Zephyrhills murder turns himself in

ZEPHYRHILLS — The teenage suspect in the murder of a man found dead in his car on railroad tracks last week has turned himself in to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

At about 9 p.m. Monday, 16-year-old Corey Lindsey Jr., 39600 Lincoln Ave. in Zephyrhills, was booked at the Land O' Lakes Detention Center on a second degree murder charge. He was then taken to the Juvenile Detention Center, deputies said.

The body of Donald Watts, 60, of 7355 20th St., was discovered Tuesday on the railroad tracks at intersection Sixth Avenue and Airport Road. Deputies said he had been shot and drove himself as far as he could before passing out. His car was found on the tracks at about 1:45 p.m. Watts was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
