Three teens arrested in string of neighborhood burglaries

ST. PETERSBURG — Police have arrested three teens in connection with a string of burglaries in the city.

Detectives caught two of the teens breaking into a home in the 2300 block of Tropical Shores Drive S on July 9. That arrest led investigators to a third teen, who was found with stolen items including DVD players, gaming systems, televisions and speakers, police said. Police are still trying to sort the items and return them to their owners.

Police believe the teens may be responsible for as many as 13 burglaries in the neighborhood south of 17th Avenue SE between 4th Street S and Tampa Bay over a period of nearly a month.

The teens are not being named because of their ages.
