Tip leads Hernando authorities to marijuana grow house in Spring Hill

BROOKSVILLE — Two Spring Hill men were arrested Wednesday and charged with operating a marijuana-growing operation.

Yonny Karel Seculitolosa, 32, faces multiple charges, including cultivation of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture of a controlled substance and drug trafficking. He was being held Wednesday at the Hernando County Detention Center in lieu of $15,500 bail. Juan M. Garcia, 30, faces one count of marijuana cultivation and was being held in lieu of $5,000 bail.

According to a Hernando Sheriff's Office report, an investigation of a tip led vice and narcotics detectives to 9543 Century Drive in Spring Hill, where a search revealed that the entire interior had been converted to accommodate a grow operation. Detectives found 17 marijuana plants, plus 27 pounds of processed marijuana. Detectives also noticed that power was being diverted from the meter.

The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
