Town 'N Country man charged with burglary and attempted rape

TOWN 'N COUNTRY — A 37-year-old Town 'N Country man faces burglary and sexual battery charges after, authorities say, he broke into a woman's house early Sunday and pushed her to the floor, exposed himself and tried to rape her. She was able to escape.

Rayner Herrera-Perez was arrested Sunday morning near his home at 4408 W Paris St., according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

He was charged with burglary, false imprisonment, exposure of sexual organs and attempted sexual battery. He was being held in jail Monday without bond.

This is his sixth arrest in Hillsborough, according to jail records. He has previously been charged with domestic violence battery, violation of injunction, stalking and false imprisonment.
