Treasure Island man accused of taking kids to drug deal

PINELLAS PARK — Police arrested a man they said took two children to a drug deal.

Jeffrey David Cron, 29, of Treasure Island, bought $20 worth of crack cocaine just before 3 p.m. Tuesday in Pinellas Park, police said.

A boy and a girl, whose ages were not immediately available, were inside Cron's car at the time.

When approached by police, Cron threw the drugs to the ground, an officer wrote in an arrest affidavit.

Cron, listed as unemployed, was in the Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $12,000 bail Wednesday.
