PLANT CITY — A wanted Plant City man being watched by authorities was one of two people arrested Monday as a carjacking unfolded, deputies said.

David Ryan, 28, was under surveillance for warrants on drug and gun charges when he and Christina Hutchinson, 28, of Mulberry jumped into a motorist's car, held the driver at gunpoint and forced her to drive, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. The two were arrested in Plant City.

The victim, who was not associated with Ryan or Hutchinson, said she feared for her life, according to arrest reports.

Ryan was held Tuesday without bail on 10 felony charges and one misdemeanor charge related to the carjacking and earlier warrants. Records show he has served several stints in prison on drug and firearm charges.

Hutchinson was held without bail on one felony charge.
