Two arrested, two sought in Tampa home invasion where victim was pistol whipped

TAMPA — Tampa police are searching for two men in connection with a home invasion late Thursday in east Tampa where one victim was pistol whipped and a shot was fired.

Two other men were arrested in connection with the crime after police spotted a stolen car speeding away from the area and pursued it until it stopped in the Bro Bowl skate park off 900 Scott St. Officers chased down the two men on foot.

Daniel Luis Santana, 21, of 1500 Rivercove Dr. in Tampa, was arrested on charges of home invasion robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery and two counts of carrying a concealed firearm. Bradley Scott Kincaid, 24, of 9402 N. 15th St. in Tampa, was arrested on charges of home invasion robbery with a firearm, fleeing to elude, no valid driver's license and grand theft auto.

Tampa police gave this account of the incident:

Officers received a report of shots fired at about 11:25 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of E. Genesee St., northwest of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and 22nd Street. They were on the lookout for a Kia Sol and soon spotted a vehicle matching that description fleeing the area at a high rate of speed. It was determined that a home invasion had occurred, police said, so they pursued the car to the skate park and made the arrests.

The Kia had been reported stolen from Tampa International Airport, police said.

During the home invasion, police later learned, at least four armed, masked robbers forced their way into the victim's home. A shot was fired inside but no one was hurt. A male victim was beaten with a pistol and was being treated at a hospital for injuries that are not life threatening, police said.
