Two boys, both 13, arrested in string of Ridge Manor burglaries

RIDGE MANOR

Pair of boys arrested in rash of burglaries

Two 13-year-old boys have been charged in connection with a string of recent burglaries. Among the many items they're accused of stealing are money, GPS devices and a pair of pistols.

About 11 p.m. Thursday, Hernando County sheriff's deputies saw three boys in Ridge Manor, and one of them was carrying a purse filled with jewelry, reports show. When deputies approached them, two of the boys ran off. They were later caught.

The two boys, authorities said, primarily targeted vehicles. The Times is withholding their names because they are juveniles.

When a deputy read one of them his Miranda rights, he told the deputy "he was arrested in the past and basically knows the routine," a report said.
