TAMPA — A crowd gathered outside a home after a funeral was targeted by gunfire late Saturday night, according to police, leaving two injured.
Tampa police on Sunday were searching for two male suspects in the drive-by shooting. They were last seen driving a large beige or tan SUV.
The incident took place near the 3200 block of 49th Street, according to police.
A large crowd had gathered outside a home there, police said, after a funeral service. Because of the size of the crowd, officers were monitoring the gathering.
Then, about 10:30 p.m., police said the two suspects fired an unknown number of rounds into the crowd.
Officers blocked off sections of Melbourne Boulevard and 49th Street while searching for the suspects late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
Police said they don't have a motive for the shooting.
The two victims, a woman, 30, and a man, 20, were each shot once in their lower extremities, police said. Both were treated at a local hospital, but their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
