Two men arrested after one shoots at Pasco deputies

PORT RICHEY — Two men were arrested during a house search Friday after one of them fired a shot at deputies, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Kalamo Kamu Sr., 61, missed the deputies, whom he fired upon as they were opening the door to the home at 8020 Congress St., the Sheriff's Office said. Kalamo Kamu Jr., 34, was also inside the house, where investigators say they found more than 200 grams of crack cocaine.

Kamu Sr. faces a charge of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer. Kamu Jr. faces three counts of sale and possession of crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of a child care facility, six counts of unlawful use of a two-way communication device and three counts of trafficking crack cocaine.

Both men face charges of being felons in possession of a firearm, possession of cocaine and possession of a controlled substance, and were transported to the Land O'Lakes Detention Center.
