Valrico man accused of possessing child pornography

TAMPA — Deputies have arrested a Valrico man accused of possessing child pornography.

Derek Michael Morgan, 23, faces 20 counts of possession of child pornography.

The Sheriff's Office says that on Wednesday, after a month-long investigation, deputies executed a search warrant at Morgan's house and took a computer and other electronic items. They found files depicting children 13 years and younger engaged in sexual activities, and deputies say Morgan admitted to downloading them.

Morgan was being held Thursday in jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.

This was his first arrest in Hillsborough County, records show.
