Vandals spray-paint anti-Christian graffiti at Clearwater Central Catholic High School

A Clearwater-area parochial school was struck by vandalism just after Christmas, as anti-Christian symbols were spray-painted on school buildings, vehicles and a statue of the Virgin Mary, authorities said.

The graffiti were painted across the campus of Clearwater Central Catholic High School, 2750 Haines Bayshore Road, sometime Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, Pinellas County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda said.

She said the symbols spray-painted by vandals included pentagrams, upside-down crosses and the number 666, all popularly associated with devil worship or blasphemy. Barreda said sheriff's deputies had not identified any suspects.
