WEEKI WACHEE — A 22-year-old Weeki Wachee man was arrested Thursday after Hernando County deputies found a homemade bomb in a Winnebago during a traffic stop, authorities said. Joshua Jacob Jacoby was one of several people in the Winnebago, pulled over by a deputy on Bahama Swallow Drive about 8:30 a.m., the Sheriff's Office said. When Jacoby, who was driving, gave consent to search the camper, the deputy noticed what looked like a small, homemade explosive device. A bomb squad arrived, along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms and Tobacco. Jacoby was charged with one count of making or possessing an explosive device and driving with a suspended license. He remained in the Hernando County Detention Center in lieu of $2,500 bail. The Sheriff's Office did not release additional information, citing an ongoing investigation that included an analysis of the device.
