Wesley Chapel student brought machete to school, deputies say

WESLEY CHAPEL — A 16-year-old Wesley Chapel High School student was arrested Monday after, deputies say, he showed up to school with a 2 1/2-foot machete hidden in his right pants leg.

Malique Adolphine, 16, showed the machete to other students and said, "Now you want to mess with me," according to a Pasco Sheriff's report.

Adolphine left the property, the report states, prompting administrators to put the three-school campus on lockdown. Deputies later found Adolphine and arrested him on charges of possession of a weapon on school campus, a felony, and disruption of a school function.

He was booked into the Land O'Lakes juvenile assessment center.
