Williams Middle Magnet School in Tampa deemed safe after bomb threat

TAMPA — Williams Middle Magnet School was given the all-clear about 10:15 Thursday morning after bomb squads entered the school to investigate a bomb threat. Students were evacuated about 8:45 this morning, and a bomb team with canines swept the school.

Tampa police said they were called to 5020 N 47th St. in Tampa after a student thought she overheard two other students talking about a bomb.

Before the all-clear was given, police said the squad found an unattended bag that contained a three-ring binder.
