Woman injured in hit-and-run crash in east Hillsborough

DOVER — Deputies were looking for the driver of a pickup truck who ran into a woman and left her injured on the side of the road Friday in Dover.

Stacey Parkenson, 40, was found about 11:23 a.m. near 14603 Sydney Road, Hillsborough County sheriff's officials said.

She was unconscious and investigators said she appeared to have been hit by a 1994 to 2002 silver Dodge crew cab pickup truck. Authorities said a driver and passenger were in the pickup and that it briefly slowed down after the crash before fleeing. However, the truck's front grille was found at the scene.

Parkenson, who lives down the street from where she was found, was airlifted to a hospital. She was in serious condition.

Anyone with information about the driver was asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200.
