ZEPHYRHILLS — A 17-year-old is accused of robbing a man at gunpoint and firing a shot that grazed the victim's head.

Joshua Dylan Arens approached the victim about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday in an alley between Eighth and Ninth streets, according to the Zephyrhills Police Department. The victim, 23, told police that Arens pushed the gun into the back of his head, forced him to the ground, fired at his head and stole his belongings, including $30, half a pack of cigarettes, two burritos and a bottle of chocolate milk.

The victim was treated at the scene for his injuries.

Arens fled in a gold Honda Accord that was pulled over about a half-hour later, police said. Two other people in the car told police that Arens had robbed the man.

Arens was taken to the juvenile detention center and charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Officers said the gun used in the crime has not yet been recovered.
