Deputies identify two in Land O'Lakes murder-suicide

LAND O' LAKES — Authorities on Friday identified two people found dead Thursday after an apparent murder-suicide.

Pasco sheriff's detectives believe that Melissa Marie Howard, 30, was shot dead by her boyfriend, David Jon McQuiston, 36, before he turned the gun on himself.

It happened in a locked bedroom at Howard's home, 22535 Stillwood Drive. McQuiston lived at 10059 Bedford Road in Spring Hill, deputies said.

The motive is still under investigation.

Goliath, the biblical giant, wasn't known for bothering fishermen. But the gigantic fish named after him — they can weigh up to 800-pounds — is notorious for exactly that.

Biologists take samples from a goliath grouper that was caught in the Gulf of Mexico. The fish was released back into the gulf. Florida fishermen have petitioned the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to allow them to catch the up to 800-pound fish for a limited time.
