PLANT CITY — Authorities asked the public for help Sunday evening in finding a woman who wandered away from a retirement home.
The woman, Sharon L. Olson, 55, was discovered missing Sunday morning about 45 minutes after the staff at Sharick's Deck Retirement Ranch had dispensed medication to her.
Olson, described as 5-foot-7, 145 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, was last seen wearing a blue floral shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Olson has been living at the facility at 4506 Bruton Road for the past 10 years and has frequently left. But she always has been found within a few hours in the areas of Sun City Center Boulevard and U.S. 301 or Knights Griffin and Bruton roads.
The Sheriff's Office said she suffers from mental issues and other medical conditions that could affect her ability to find her way back.
Anyone who may have seen or knows the whereabouts of Olson was asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200.
