Deputies: Man killed in Ruskin shooting

RUSKIN — Hillsborough sheriff's deputies are investigating a man's death following what appeared to be an accidental shooting Saturday afternoon.

At 4:50 p.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office received a call from 2407 W Ravine Drive about a shooting, and found John Bartha, 64, with a chest wound.

Early investigation revealed Bartha may have shot himself while handling a gun, said Deputy Larry McKinnon, a spokesman for the sheriff's office.

Bartha was a minister at the Ruskin United Methodist Church.
