Deputies still searching for Palm Harbor man reported missing last week

PALM HARBOR — Deputies were searching Monday for a 66-year-old man reported missing in Palm Harbor last week, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.

Edmund C. Giers was last seen May 10 after he drove away from his house on Knoll Street East in a white Geo Prizm, license tag number H951UJ. The car's front license plate reads "God Bless America."

His family told deputies Giers may have been driving north into Holiday on May 11. Giers is familiar with Pasco and Hernando counties and "has a liking to wooded areas," the Sheriff's Office said.

Giers is 5-foot-11-inches tall and weighs about 176 pounds. He has green eyes and gray hair, deputies said. He is not fluent in English, but speaks Polish.

The Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information on Giers' whereabouts call (727)582-6200.
