Detectives narrow description of SUV that hit 4-year-old boy in Tampa

TAMPA — Detectives on Wednesday offered a narrower description of the sport utility vehicle that killed 4-year-old Marterrance Albury when he was run over Sunday night on N Florida Avenue.

Detectives are looking for a 1997 to 2002 Ford Expedition, dark in color, with custom chrome rims and front grill, and tinted windows, Tampa police said.

Surveillance video from a nearby business appeared to show the boy running up and down N Florida Avenue before being struck by an SUV heading south. Police said Tuesday it was possible the driver was not aware that the boy had been hit.

Anyone with information is asked to call Tampa police at (813) 231-6130 or Crime Stoppers at toll-free at 1-800-873-8477.
