Elderly man found dead in car outside Hudson Walmart

HUDSON – The body of an elderly man was found inside a car in the parking lot of a Walmart Supercenter this morning, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll said security video of the store at 12610 U.S. 19 in Hudson showed the 75-year-old man pulling into a parking space at 8:51 a.m. He died with the engine running and his foot on the brake.

A few hours later, shoppers noticed the man hadn't moved and called 911, Doll said. The car doors were locked and the windows rolled up, so paramedics broke the window and found out the man was dead. The Sheriff's Office was notified at 11:26 a.m.

Doll said his death does not appear to be suspicious. The man, whose name was not released, had a history of medical problems, Doll said. Next of kin has been notified.
