Fire at Clearwater condominium complex displaces 18 residents

CLEARWATER — A three-alarm fire at a Clearwater condominium complex displaced 18 people Tuesday morning, according to Clearwater Fire & Rescue.

According to a news release, the blaze started in the attic of building 8 at the Imperial Cove Condominiums, 19029 U.S. 19 N., around 3:30 a.m. Crews from multiple agencies responded and were able to contain the fire to the attic of the four-story structure.

Clearwater Fire said residents were not injured, but 18 people from seven units were displaced because of the fire. Four firefighters were treated on scene for minor injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
