Clearwater fire displaces 10

CLEARWATER — Officials are investigating a Saturday night house fire that displaced 10 people, authorities said.

Clearwater Fire & Rescue was called to 1143 Howard St. at about 8:50 p.m., said Elizabeth Watts, public safety spokeswoman.

When firefighters arrived, Watts said, the single-family home was engulfed. The occupants, two adults and eight children, were already out.

Firefighters had the blaze out in about 15 minutes, Watts said. No damage estimate was available and the Red Cross is assisting the people.
