CLEARWATER — Visitors to Clearwater Beach may be noticing a pall of smoke at the north end of the beach today. No need for alarm. The smoke is coming from a prescribed burn being conducted on Caladesi Island, an undeveloped island just north of Clearwater Beach. Honeymoon Island State Park Manager Pete Krulder said a controlled fire to clear out underbrush is taking place on the island today. The burn will be over by tomorrow, he said.
