DUNEDIN — A blaze that broke out at a triplex Saturday night displaced 15 people, officials said.
The Red Cross was called to assist the residents, none of whom were injured in the fire, which started at about 6 p.m. at 381 Milwaukee Ave.
When firefighters arrived, the frame home was ablaze. A car also was on fire, said Division Chief Bill McElligott, fire marshal for Dunedin Fire Department. A nearby home's exterior was charred.
"It was a little spectacular," McElligott said. "But we got a very quick knockdown."
No firefighters were injured. Officials late Saturday night said an investigation revealed the fire appeared to be electrical.
"We've isolated it to a clothes dryer," McElligott said.
Officials estimated the damage to the structures, including both homes, a Ford Taurus station wagon and a Vespa scooter, to be about $135,000.
"We believe at least two-thirds of the structure was involved as well as the attic," he said.
