One person found dead in Seminole Heights house fire

TAMPA — One person died in an early morning residential fire on West Ida Street, Tampa Fire Rescue reported.

Fire officials and the Tampa Police Department responded to the blaze at 5:08 a.m. and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of the single story brick home. All but one occupants evacuated, officials said. That person, who has not been identified, was found during an initial search of the home. No other injuries were reported.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze by 6:35 a.m., authorities said. The Arson Task Force was investigating Saturday morning.
